Drug charges, Calamvale

Detectives from the Organised Crime Gangs Group, Taskforce Maxima have charged a 44-year-old man following the execution of a search warrant at a Calamvale address on Wednesday.

During the search, police located and seized approximately 2.7 kilograms of methylamphetamine and quantities of other dangerous drugs, ammunition, a money counter and drug related equipment.

The 44-year-old Calamvale man was charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine, testosterone and dianabol) and one count each of possess explosives (ammunition), possess restricted medicine and possess thing used in connection.

Detective Acting Inspector Anthony Bristow from the Organised Crime Gangs Group said this was a notable seizure with the arrest reflecting the Queensland Police Service's commitment to pursuing OMCG-driven crime.

He was remanded in custody and expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 7.
