Drug charges, Goodna

Police have charged two people in relation to alleged drug offences after a vehicle was intercepted on Redbank Plains Road on Friday, July 8.

It will be alleged the 56-year-old Margate man was stopped in relation to a disqualified licence, with police subsequently searching the man and the utility.

During the search officers allegedly located a quantity of dangerous drugs in the ute before the man snatched the item and fled on foot from the scene.

It will be further alleged the man attempted to destroy evidence during a brief foot chase before he was taken into custody by police.

The 56-year-old man was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs and two counts of obstruction of a police officer. He will appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today, Monday, July 11.

A 34-year-old Wynnum woman was also charged with one count each of possessing and supplying dangerous drugs. She will appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today, Monday, July 11.
