Drug charges in Crows Nest, QLD

Police have charged a man with drugs offences following the execution of a search warrant in Crows Nest this morning, Queensland Police say.

At 6am Officers from the Darling Downs District Tactical Crime Squad executed the warrant at a property on Three Miles Road where a man and a woman were taken into custody.

A search of the property allegedly located a quantity of methylamphetamine, compressed and vacuum sealed bags of cannabis and tabs of LSD. Officers will also allege they located thirteen cannabis plants, utensils for drug consumption, ammunition and a quantity of cash.

A 25-year-old Crows Nest man has been charged with seven charges including possession of a dangerous drug (cannabis), possession of a dangerous drug (amphetamine), possession of a dangerous drug (LSD), production of a dangerous drug (cannabis), possession of drug utensils, possession of property used in the commission of a crime and unlawful possession of explosives (ammunition).

He is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday, November 28.

A 23-year-old Crows Nest woman located at the same address was drug diverted.

Senior Sergeant Scott Stahlhut, Officer in Charge Darling Downs District Tactical Crime Squad said today’s tactical actions were the result of ongoing investigations into the production and supply of various forms of dangerous drugs in the area.

"Crows Nest is a relatively small community. The impact of illicit drug supply in town and areas similar to Crows Nest can be somewhat magnified as a result. It remains our intention to work closely with local officers and the community to minimise these impacts," Senior Sergeant Stahlhut said.
