Drug lab components discovered, woman charged - Cabramatta

A woman has been charged after chemicals and equipment consistent with being used in a drug lab was allegedly discovered in a vehicle at Cabramatta yesterday.

About 7.45pm (Saturday 18 May 2019), officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command were patrolling Liverpool Street, when they stopped an unregistered Silver BMW.

Officers spoke to the driver and allegedly detected a strong chemical smell.

The unlicensed driver, a 31-year-old woman, was arrested.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located hazardous chemicals and equipment.

Fire & Rescue NSW, HAZMAT, and the State Crime Command's Chemical Operations Unit attended.

Police have seized equipment and apparatus used in the manufacture of drugs along with pseudoephedrine. The vehicle was also seized.

The woman was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with possess precursor intend to use in manufacture/production, supply prohibited drug, unlicensed driver, use unregistered motor vehicle, and use uninsured motor vehicle.

She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 19 May 2019).
