Drug raids net $350,000 in cannabis – Loganholme

Information from the public through Crime Stoppers has led police from the Logan District to the discovery of a large quantity of cannabis, along with other illegal drugs, across two properties in the area.

On June 5, 2017 Loganholme police and Logan District Tactical Crime Squad executed a search warrant on a Tenah Merah house where an elaborate and well established hydroponic cannabis set up was allegedly located inside the residence feeding around 63 plants located. Four kilograms of dry cannabis was also allegedly located at the house.

On the same day a second search warrant was executed at a Cornubia house where methamphetamine, MDMA tablets and restricted prescription drugs were allegedly located.

The raids resulted in four people being charged with 21 offences, including numerous drug offences.

A 44-year-old Tenah Merah man has been charged with one count each of possess dangerous drug, produce dangerous drug, possess anything used in the commission of a crime and possess utensil.

A 22-year-old Tenah Merah man has been charged with one count each of possess dangerous drug, produce dangerous drug and possess utensil.

Both men are expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 3, 2017.

An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, both from Cornubia have each been charged with three counts each of possess a dangerous drug and unlawful possession of a restricted drug.

The 18-year-old woman was further charged with possession of a utensil.

The man and the women are expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on June 30, 2017.
