A man will face court today charged after a motorcycle was stopped at Maitland last night.
Police were patrolling the Maitland area about 11pm (Sunday 25 May 2025), when they stopped a motorcycle on Grant Street, Maitland.
The rider – a 26-year-old man – was subjected to a roadside breath and drug test, allegedly returning a positive detection to methamphetamine.
He was arrested and underwent a secondary oral fluid test which will be sent for further analysis, with further action dependant on those results.
When the man was searched, police will allege they found methylamphetamine – with an estimated potential street value of more than $14,000 – in his possession.
He was taken to Maitland Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug (more than indictable and less than commercial quantity).
He was refused bail to appear before Maitland Local Court today (Monday 26 May 2025).
