Drug trafficking at Interchange

A man was charged with drug trafficking during police Operation Hurricane 2 at Mawson Lakes last night.

Operation Hurricane 2 was launched to tackle recent crime clusters across the State, including break-ins, robberies, motor vehicle crime, thefts and stolen goods.

Officers concentrated their activities on Mawson Lakes last night and allegedly detected a man trafficking drugs at the Interchange.

About 5.30pm on Tuesday 17 March, a 26-year-old Mawson Lakes man was allegedly found in possession of 16 sealed packages of cannabis resin. A subsequent search of the man's home uncovered further paraphernalia and $15,000 cash.

He was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled drug and unlawful possession and bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 4 May.
