Drugs and cash found after truck stop in Truro

A large amount of cannabis and cash has been found after a traffic stop in Truro.

Police will allege that about 11.45pm on Friday 4 September, officers stopped a truck travelling to Adelaide on the Sturt Highway for a vehicle inspection.

Police located an electric drill resting on the wheel arch, and suspected other items may be hidden elsewhere in the truck.

The truck and trailer were towed to the Ottoway Police Compound for further examination, and 39 kilograms was located in the trailer, along with $228,000 in the cabin.

The driver a 45-year-old man from New South Wales, was arrested and charged with trafficking in a large commercial quantity of illegal drugs and money laundering.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 14 December.
