Drugs and cash seized during joint operation

Detectives from the Organised Crime Gangs Group and the Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch executed a search warrant at an Ipswich property yesterday as a result of ongoing investigations into trafficking and possession of dangerous drugs.

Officers attended the Francis street address at Chuwar seizing 48 bags of cannabis, weighing approximately 50kg, methylamphetamine and cash.

As part of the investigation detectives also attended the Brisbane domestic airport where they arrested a man allegedly in possession of $175,720 in Australian currency and two mobile phones.

A 24-year-old New South Wales man has been charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs, possession of property obtained from trafficking in drugs and possession of things used in commission of a crime. He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court.

A 50-year-old Chuwar man has been charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs, possession dangerous drugs, possession things used in commission of a crime and possession of property obtained from trafficking in drugs. He is expected to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
