Drugs and counterfeit cash arrest at Gold Coast

Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have arrested a Burleigh Heads man for serious drug and counterfeit cash offences.

It will be alleged detectives executed a search warrant on a Clinton Avenue residence on Thursday morning.

As a result, it will be alleged methylamphetamines (ICE) valued at more than $10,000, MDMA tablets, steroids, approximately $10,000 in counterfeit Australian currency and other drug paraphernalia was located.

A 44-year-old Burleigh Heads man was arrested and charged with four counts of possession of dangerous drugs, receiving tainted property, possession of counterfeit currency, possession of drug utensils and contravene a direction.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith from Gold Coast CIB said the arrest and seizure are a great result for the community.

"The impact of ICE on the community is a concern to everyone and every time we take some from the street it is win for us all. Offenders need to get the message, we will continue to target them until they change their behaviour."
