Drugs, cash and stolen vehicles located in Ararat raids

A man is due to face Horsham Magistrates' Court this morning following the execution of three warrants in Ararat yesterday.

Ararat Crime Investigation Unit detectives executed warrants at three addresses on Lowe, Palmer and Moore streets in simultaneously early morning raids on Tuesday 12 March.

At the Lowe Street address detectives allegedly located a large amount of cash, white powder believed to be methamphetamine, a bobcat believed to be stolen and a number of electrical power tools believed to be the proceeds of crime.

A 38-year-old Ararat man and a 25-year-old Ararat woman were arrested at the address.

At the Moore Street address investigators allegedly found cash, two Toyota utilities, a Holden sedan and a Yamaha motorcycle all believed to have been stolen.

Also located was a tractor believed to be the proceeds of crime.

No property or drugs were located at the Palmer Street address.

The 38-year-old man was charged with traffick a drug of dependence, traffick and possess methamphetamine, deal in property suspected of being the proceeds of crime and theft of motor car.

He was remanded overnight and will appear at the Horsham Magistrates' Court this morning.

The 25-year-old woman was arrested in relation to outstanding warrants.
