Drugs discovered in Yarra Glen intercept

Mooroolbark police have arrested a man and a woman following the discovery of a large amount of drugs during a routine intercept this morning, Victoria Police say.

Police intercepted a BMW 323i travelling on Yarra Glen-Healesville Road, Yarra Glen about 1.30am, as it was registered to a suspended driver.

The driver of the car, a 39-year-old man, was not the registered owner, however licence checks indicated his licence was disqualified.

Police conducted a search of the vehicle and uncovered a large assortment of drugs, including ice, ecstasy, heroin, cocaine, and a large amount of cash.

The man and his passenger, a 20-year-old Hampton Park woman, were swiftly arrested and are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

They are expected to be charged with possess and traffick a large commercial quantity of drugs, and other drug related charges, and will face the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court later today.
