A man has been charged after police allegedly located a rifle, drugs, and counterfeit money at a home in Sydney’s south, NSW Police say.
On Thursday 18 October 2018, a pair of shoes was purchased from a shoe store in Miranda.
Police were alerted to the use of counterfeit money and officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command commenced an investigation.
Shortly before 2:30pm yesterday (Friday 26 October 2018), police executed a search warrant at a home in Pozieres Street, Cronulla.
Police will allege during the search they located a number of items including counterfeit notes, a rifle, a quantity of ammunition, MDMA tablets, cannabis, and a quantity of white powder believed to be cocaine.
All items were seized for forensic examination.
A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Sutherland Police Station and charged with 14 offences, including:
- Dishonestly obtain property by deception;
- Utter counterfeit money knowing it to be counterfeit;
- Possess prohibited drug x4;
- Supply prohibited drug – indicatable x2;
- Possess prescribed restricted substance;
- Possess unauthorised firearm;
- Not keep firearm safely-not prohibited firearm;
- Possess ammunition w/o holding licence/permit;
- Acquire etc pistol-subject to firearms prohibition;
- Acquire etc ammunition subject to prohibition.
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 27 October 2018).
