Drugs seized after arrests in Bentleigh East

Officers from the Caulfield Divisional Response Unit have arrested a man and woman in Bentleigh East this morning as part of Operation Dante.

Operation Dante is an ongoing investigation into the trafficking and manufacturing of methylamphetamine which has been running for almost 12 months.

A 32-year-old man from Bentleigh East was charged with traffic/possess a drug of dependence, weapons and proceeds of crime offences.

He has been remanded to appear at Moorabin Magistrates' Court on 24 June.

A 29-year-old woman also from Bentleigh East was charged with traffick/possess drug of dependence, weapons and proceeds offences.

She is due to appear at court at a later date.

Police also seized a quantity of drugs, cash and weapons.

Last month police charged ten people aged between 22 and 53-years-old as part of Operation Dante after warrants were executed at nine locations across Melbourne's south east.

They were charged with offences including traffick large commercial quantity methylamphetamine, traffick cocaine, traffick commercial quantity of MDMA, possess firearm, proceeds of crime, possess ammunition and manufacture and store unauthorised explosives.

Police also seized approximately 19kgs of methylamphetamine, approximately half a kilogram of MDMA, more than $100,000, explosives, 12 firearms, a red Ferrari California T coupe, a 2017 Mercedes Benz C63, Holden Commodore ute, BMW X5, four jet skis and three motorcycles.
