Drunk Driver Crashes Onto Aldinga Beach

A drink driver has escaped injury after crashing her car at Aldinga Beach overnight.

Police and emergency services were called to the Esplanade at Aldinga Beach just before 12.30am on Sunday 24 May, following reports a Mazda sedan had collided with a timber guard rail, travelled down an embankment and onto the beach.

The driver, a 32-year-old woman from Aldinga Beach, was uninjured despite one of the timber posts impacting the windscreen.

She submitted to a breath test and recorded a positive result of 0.110 – more than twice the legal limit.

The woman was reported for drink driving and driving without due care, and issued with a six-month instant loss of licence.

The Mazda sedan was towed from the scene.
