Duo arrested after aggravated carjacking in Southbank

Two teenagers have been arrested following an attempted carjacking in Southbank this morning.

It is alleged the females, armed with an edged weapon, attempted to carjack a car at the intersection of Hancock Street and Clarke Street just after 3.30am.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old Dandenong man, received minor injuries in the incident.

Police arrested the pair of offenders at the scene.

A 15-year-old Cranbourne girl was charged with aggravated carjacking, armed robbery and assault related offences.

A 13-year-old Dandenong girl was charged with aggravated carjacking, armed robbery, assault related offences and commit indictable offence while on bail.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at a Childrens' Court at a later date.
