Duo charged over online sales of fake jewels

Two people will face court charged over online marketplace sales of alleged fake jewellery.

At 11.15am on Friday 2 February, Southern District CIB detectives arrested a 36-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, both from Christies Beach, and charged them with multiple fraud offences.

The arrests stem from several ongoing investigations into the sale of allegedly fake jewellery and precious gems on online marketplace between April and December 2023 at various locations across metropolitan Adelaide.

The woman was charged with seven counts of dishonest dealing with documents, six counts of deception and breach of bail. She was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday 5 February.

The man was charged with five counts of dishonest dealing with documents and four counts of deception and bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 2 May.
