An e-bike rider has died in a collision involving a garbage truck in Sydney's CBD this morning.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Little Regent Street and George Street, Ultimo, about 6am (Tuesday 2 December 2025), following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Surry Hills and Sydney City Police Area Commands and Police Transport Command attended and found an e-bike and a garbage truck had collided.
The e-bike rider – a man aged in his 30s - was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene.
The driver of the truck – a 28-year-old man – was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have established a crime scene and have commenced investigations into the cause of the crash, with assistance from officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
