Snowy Monaro locals and visitors hitting the trails in and around Jindabyne this November need to be on the lookout for the ecology team performing environmental surveys for the Jindabyne Shared Trail project.

Ecologists will be on the ground across the trail network from this afternoon, Monday 7 November 2022 until Friday 11 November 2022.

The team will return for a final week of surveys – including at night – from Monday 21 November 2022 through Friday 25 November 2022.

Visitors to the trails listed below are asked to take extra care while the ecologists are on-site conducting these surveys. The team will be slowly walking the trail, stopping frequently and often working close to the ground.

These studies form part of the reports required for both Ecological Assessments and Aboriginal Cultural Assessments that form part of the development application for the Jindabyne Shared Trail project.

The results will guide Council's trail designs – avoiding sensitive habits, assisting in rehabilitation preparation, as well as providing advice on delivering this project in an environmentally sensitive way.

The Jindabyne Shared Trail is funded by Restart NSW.
