Government of Canada supports trail upgrades for improved safety, accessibility, climate resilience
Visitors are drawn to rural communities in Atlantic Canada throughout the year to create unforgettable memories while exploring its distinctive landscapes and enjoying a variety of outdoor experiences that make this region unique.
Today, Chris d'Entremont, Member of Parliament for Acadie-Annapolis, announced a $37,452 non-repayable contribution to enable the Municipality of Digby to revamp Balancing Rock Trail. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
The support enables the Municipality to engage engineering experts to redesign the Balancing Rock Trail and viewing platform in Tiverton to enhance visitor experience. The plans will guide future upgrades to improve accessibility, enhance safety and climate resilience, while ensuring the long-term sustainability of this popular tourism attraction.
