Emergency crews responding to boat fire, Gold Coast Seaway

Police have released vision in relation to the rescue of eight people, following a boat fire off Main Beach this morning.

Around 9.30am, police were notified of a boat fire in the Gold Coast Seaway, approximately 4.3 nautical miles off the coastline.

Gold Coast Water Police attended and transported 6 adults and 2 children, aged between 13 and 78-years-old, to shore where they were met by paramedics.

No one was injured during the incident and no one required transportation to hospital.

The vessel sank and could not be salvaged.
