Police are investigating following a fatal fire at Portland last night.
Emergency services were called to a shrub land off Cape Nelson Road to reports of a grass fire about 8pm.
Firefighters located a vehicle on fire at the scene.
Sadly, a person who is yet to be formally identified, was discovered deceased inside the vehicle.
A crime scene has been set up and the circumstances surrounding the fire are yet to be determined.
An arson chemist and fire investigators from the Arson Squad will attend the site this morning to process the scene.
