Emergency crews responding to fatal house fire at Mount Burr, South Australia

Police are investigating a fatal house fire at Mount Burr last night.

Emergency services responded to reports of a fire at Mount Burr at 7pm on Tuesday 27 August and arrived in Gray Terrace to find the house well alight.

The fire had also spread to a vehicle.

CFS crews eventually extinguished the fire, but the house was completely gutted in the blaze.

Sadly, the occupant of the house, an 82-year-old man, was located deceased inside the premises. His dog unfortunately also perished in the fire.

CIB detectives attended the scene and are investigating. Fire cause investigators from Adelaide have attended the scene overnight to determine a cause of the fire.

Police are preparing a report for the Coroner.
