Emergency crews responding to fatal house fire in Ripplebrook

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal house fire which claimed the life of a man in Ripplebrook this morning.

Emergency services were called to a property on Lyle-Dixon Road just before 4.30am after reports that a house was on fire.

The fire was extinguished and a man aged in his 70s was located deceased

A second man was conveyed to hospital with smoke inhalation.

Arson and Explosives Squad detectives will attend the scene later this morning to determine the cause of the fire.
