A long-running golfing tradition between two Emu Plains mates has paid off in spectacular fashion, after a loss on the course delivered a $100,000 Lucky Lotteries prize.
The winning pair held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11100 and took home a total prize of $100,000.
When we spoke with one of the winning men, he was still floating on cloud nine.
"It's fantastic! It's great news!" he laughed.
"It's a funny story actually. It's going to be shared between two of us.
"So, I play golf with a mate of mine. We've been playing for 30-odd years, and we have this thing where whoever loses has to buy a Lucky Lotteries ticket.
"It was quite a shock to see we'd won.
"Just as well I'd lost this time, otherwise, we might have got a different ticket!
"We're over the moon. We'll certainly celebrate together.
"Thank you so much!"
Their winning entry of one ticket was purchased from Lennox Newsagency, Shops 18 & 19, 219-249 Great Western Hwy, Emu Plains.
Lennox Newsagency team member Steven Prang said he and the team were over the moon to be a part of someone's thrilling win.
"It's amazing! The winners were very excited," he said.
"We've sold a couple of major prize-winning tickets over the years so it's great to have another one.
"It's always a good feeling to sell a big prize. We hope it might change a few things for them. Next time we'll sell the jackpot prize too!
