Engaging Our Community When, Where And How It Counts

Community engagement helps us make decisions that meet the needs of our community and reflect their priorities and aspirations.

How and when we do this is outlined in our Community Engagement Policy. We've recently updated our Policy to make our consultation processes more transparent and easier to understand.

The draft Policy aims to be clearer about when, why and how we'll engage with you, and covers all types of decisions, projects or plans that might significantly impact community members.

The draft Policy also explains situations when we won't seek community feedback, such as decisions best based on technical, legislative, or safety requirements, and when we've already engaged with the community on the subject.

We want to hear from you. Share your thoughts on our proposed Policy changes and your ideas for better community engagement.

Consultation closes 9 June 2025
