On 9 July, ESCWA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Cairo to enhance joint cooperation between the two, on the sidelines of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the OIC on Women.
Work under the MoU will focus on promoting regional integration, economic development, environment sustainability, technology, and social justice, as well as promoting the advancement and empowerment of women.
The work will also focus on dealing with climate change and supporting capacity building on integrated water resources management.
