Essential footpath repairs in Church Street

We are expediting essential footpath safety repairs in Church Street during Lockdown 6 to minimise disruption and support our traders. Works will commence on Saturday 7 August (weather permitting).

Utility upgrades, weather changes, street tree roots and the age of the footpaths have caused sections of the footpath to lift unevenly. Following a recent audit, Council is undertaking works to ensure footpaths remain safe for our community, and in accordance with the Road Management Act and Council's Road Management Plan.

Our focus is on ensuring the safety of our community and working with our traders to minimise disruption during this very challenging time.

Some car parks in front of footpaths being repaired will not be available during the works. This is to maintain a safe work zone for our workers, pedestrians and shoppers.

This stage of works is expected to commence on Saturday 7 August 2021 and run for the duration of Lockdown 6. Any further works will be scheduled in collaboration with traders.

The works will take place between 6am - 5pm and will involve some noise and dust, with trucks entering and exiting the street. We will provide traffic management and ensure access to shops trading during this period is maintained.
