Evade Police & Burglary Arrest, WA

Mirrabooka Detectives have charged two persons following a Burglary and evade police incident on Friday 2 June 2017.

At about 1:00 pm, police were made aware of a burglary that occurred in Cardwell Avenue Noranda. A white BMW X5 SUV was stolen from the home address, WA Police say.

Several hours later, at about 4:30pm, police observed the vehicle on Wanneroo Road Balcatta. Police attempted to stop the vehicle but it failed to do so.

Police Air wing followed the vehicle through Nollamara, Westminster, Balga and Mirrabooka. The vehicle was observed to crash through bollards on Mirrabooka Avenue and Mellidora Circle, and it struck a wall outside an address on Hepburn Way. The vehicle continued without stopping.

At Mellidora Circle, the male and female occupants fled from the vehicle. Police vehicles were quickly at the scene and were guided by Police Air wing.

Both persons were arrested a short time later.

A 42 year old man from Balcatta was charged with:

Steal Motor Vehicle

Steal Motor Vehicle and drive reckless

Home Burglary and Commit

Stealing

Fail to stop

Reckless to escape pursuit

No authority to drive

Trespass

Driver failed to stop at the scene of a crash

Driver Fail to Report Damage after a crash

Possess Cannabis

A 39 year old female from Eden Hill was charged with:

Steal motor vehicle

Receive stolen property

Refuse to provide name

Both will appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, 3 June 2017
