Evade police and drug offences at Gold Coast

Three people have been arrested after a vehicle allegedly evaded police and the subsequent discovery of a hydroponic drugs set up in a unit on the Gold Coast in the early hours of this morning.

Around 12.40am police were called to a unit on 28th Avenue at Palm Beach due to a report of man armed with a firearm allegedly attempting to rob the occupants.

The man left in a white Toyota Hiace which was seen by police on the Gold Coast Highway.

The vehicle failed to stop for police and continued to drive eventually stopping at 27th Avenue where a male passenger got out of the vehicle. An officer at the scene took the man into custody without incident. The driver of the vehicle drove away.

A short time later the vehicle was located abandoned in 27th Avenue.

Subsequent investigations led police to a unit at 28th Avenue where they located two other men who allegedly resisted police.

Inside the unit police allegedly located a hydroponics drug set up.

A 21-year-old man was given a notice to appear for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and resist arrest.

A 57-year-old man has been charged with drug production.

A 17-year-old male has been charged with resist arrest.

Police have not yet received a complaint about the earlier attempted robbery incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
