Hampton visitors will soon be able to enjoy the upgraded foreshore as key areas reopen and final works are completed.
The car park and newly aligned shared user path will open in the coming days, and a new fence will be installed around the playground as part of the project's final improvements.
The new play space will remain open to the public this weekend allowing families to continue enjoying the new play facilities. However, temporary fencing will be installed around the play space in preparation for a new fence.
From Monday 3 August, the playground will temporarily close for up to 10 days while a permanent fence is installed. The fence is being delivered in response to community feedback seeking improved safety due to the playground's proximity to the off-leash dog area.
Once complete, the play space will fully reopen for community use.
Works on the new foreshore access ramp are also progressing well, with the ramp expected to open by Friday 7 August 2026.
