Exercise MAPLE RESOLVE 22: Canadians and allies successfully tackle new challenges and complexities

National Defence

Today, more than 3,200 soldiers from Canada, United States, and the United Kingdom successfully completed Exercise MAPLE RESOLVE 22 (Ex MR 22), which began here on May 10, 2022.

As the premier Canadian Army collective training event of the year, Ex MR 22 validated the skills of Canadian Army leaders and soldiers in the contemporary operating environment through a force-on-force exercise. This year was the first utilisation of the Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE) Europe scenario. DATE Europe focuses on creating a scenario centred on a deteriorating security situation in Eastern Europe.

This comprehensive and complex Canadian Army training event, designed and developed by the Wainwright-based Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre, will make personnel from 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (2 CMBG) ready to support the Canadian Army's operational commitments, and Strong, Secure, Engaged: Canada's defence policy.
