CORVALLIS, Ore. - A collection of works from members of Print Arts Northwest will be on display Nov. 4 through Dec. 4 in the Fairbanks Gallery of Art at Oregon State University in Corvallis.
Print Arts Northwest is a nonprofit organization based in Portland that was founded in 1980 by a group of about 20 established printmakers and teachers from the Portland and Seattle areas, including the late Gordon Gilkey, former chairman of the Oregon State art department.
The organization supports and works to forward contemporary fine art printmaking through exhibitions, professional development and educational programs that promote the creation, appreciation and collection of original artists' prints by professional and emerging printmakers. Its membership includes practicing artists, patrons and collectors from the Pacific Northwest as well as from throughout North America.
More than 30 artists are represented in the show, including OSU Professor of Printmaking Yuji Hiratsuka.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. Fairbanks Gallery is located at 220 SW 26th St. It is open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The gallery will be open until 7 p.m. on Nov. 5 for the OSU Gallery Walk, and until 8 p.m. on Nov. 21 for the Corvallis Art Walk.
