The Albanese Labor Government is delivering on its election commitment to expand early childhood education and care services in Devonport to deliver additional places for families and children.

Devonport Child Care Centres Inc will receive up to $4 million through the Building Early Education Fund to support the expansion and refurbishment of Malangenna Children's Centre.

The proposed expansion will deliver up to 70 additional places and create a modern and fit-for-purpose early learning environment designed around contemporary educational practices and appropriate indoor play spaces.

The expanded service will be co-located with the TasTAFE Devonport campus.

This project is in addition to the six sites already announced through the Building Early Education Fund with the Tasmanian Government, which are all co-located with primary schools.

The Building Early Education Fund provides capital funding to build or expand early learning services in areas of need, helping families access quality early learning close to home.

These investments will support workforce participation, strengthen regional communities and help more children get a great start in life.
