Expressions of interest sought for Fuller Park

Council will invite expressions of interest (EOI) from not for profit organisations for the use of Fuller Park in Edmonton.

The Council owned land has not had a formal sporting tenant since the Mulgrave Cricket Association vacated the park at the completion of the Walker Road Sporting Precinct in 2018.

Council has made significant enhancements to Fuller Park in recent years, including the development of a fenced off leash dog park, construction of a basketball court and bike pump track, recently added playground and the refurbishment of the RSL Cenotaph.

There has been an approach from Brother's Leagues Club to lease an area within Fuller Park to provide a home for the Penhryn Sharks.

A report to Council states: "To ensure that Council makes an informed decision it should consider all potential interests in the site to gain an in-depth understanding of community requirements for the area.

"For these reasons, it is recommended that an expression of interest process be undertaken to ensure the highest and best use of the site is delivered for utilisation and community benefit."

In the interim, Council has issued a seasonal hire agreement to the Penhryn Sharks to utilise an area within Fuller Park and the adjacent amenities.
