The Remote Music Rangers program will continue to foster musical connection in the Northern Territory thanks to a $100,000 grant from the Albanese Labor Government.
In partnership with MusicNT and working with the Remote Indigenous Media Organisation, Aboriginal corporations and regional Councils, the program promotes and connects the songs and sounds of the Northern Territory.
From January 2027, the extended program will see up to 12 Remote Music Rangers help support local musicians and increase music event participation.
This will initially take place in Tennant Creek, supporting the broader Barkly Region and Gunbalunya in partnership with Injaluk Arts Centre, with more locations and communities to come.
MusicNT supports remote musicians and communities through targeted programs, with the goal of music being recognised as an essential vehicle for the continuation of culture and bringing community together.
