Taskforce Falcon detectives have charged a man after seizing drugs worth $17 million from a clandestine laboratory in Sydney's west.
As part of proactive taskings, Taskforce Falcon detectives – with the assistance of officers attached to the Southern Region Enforcement Squad – identified a man allegedly involved in the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs.
About 7.45am on Wednesday (13 August 2025), detectives – with assistance from officers attached to the Public Order and Riot Squad – executed a search warrant at a house on Gillivers Place, Lidcombe.
During the warrant, police located and seized $59,000 cash and a mobile phone.
Following further inquiries, police located a clandestine laboratory at a property on Sussex Street, Lidcombe, where a crime scene was established.
Specialist police from the Drug and Firearms Squad's Chemical Operations Team and NSW Fire & Rescue attended to dismantle the lab.
A search warrant was executed at the property, during which police located and seized 28kg of methylamphetamine, estimated to have a street value of $17 million.
Police also located and seized approximately 260 items consistent with the manufacture of prohibited drugs including precursor chemicals and glassware, 3.2kg of liquid suspected to be methylamphetamine and 90g of ephedrine.
About 4.45pm yesterday (Thursday 14 August 2025), police arrested a 54-year-old man in Lidcombe.
He was taken to Auburn Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity and deal with property proceeds of crime.
The 54-year-old man was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court yesterday, where he was refused bail to appear before the same court on Wednesday 15 October 2025.
Police will allege in court the man was involved in the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs, namely methylamphetamine.
