Far North police have charged two teenage boys with several property offences last week.
On 29 August, officers from the Tactical Crime Squad, Property Crime Squad, Dog Squad and POLAIR helicopter located a 17-year-old Manunda boy at a Gordonvale address.
It will be alleged the boy was involved in several break and enters and the theft of multiple stolen vehicles over the last month, including a Mazda CX-3, a Subaru Forrester, a Toyota Kluger, Toyota Rav4, a Mitsubishi ZM24, a Mitsubishi Outlander, a Nissan Qashqai, a Toyota Corolla Cross, a Hyundai i30, a Toyota Hilux, a Toyota Landcruiser, a Hyundai Tuscon, a Toyota C-HR and a Suzuki Swift.
It is further alleged the boy broke into a Charlekata Close unit on 3 August, and threatened a teenage girl, demanding money.
She was not physically injured.
He has been charged with 45 offences including eleven counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, eight counts of enter dwelling and commit, five counts each of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break, attempted enter dwelling with intent by break at night, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle - publish on social media, four counts of enter premises with intent to commit, and one count each of armed robbery, stealing, driving motor vehicle without a driver licence, enter dwelling and commit indictable offence by break and obstruct police officer.
He was refused bail and is due to reappear in the Cairns Childrens Court on 2 September.
It will be alleged on 25 August, a 17-year-old Mooroobool boy was involved with the theft of a white LDV T60 dual cab and a white MG were stolen from a Wiseman Road property.
The White MG was located around 3.15am on Isabella Road Edmonton on 28 August, whilst police intercepted the second vehicle, a white LDV T60 after a successful tyre deflation device deployment on Mulgrave Road at about 11.40pm on 29 August.
It is further alleged the LDV was abandoned a short time later near the intersection of Casella and Marsh Streets, before the occupants fled on foot.
Officers arrived after Police Dog Elvis tracked the 17-year-old Mooroobool boy to a roof.
The boy was arrested without incident and charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.
He was remanded in custody to appear in the Cairns Childrens Court on 4 September.
Since August 9, police have charged 284 people with 1180 offences.
Detective Inspector Jason Chetham said police will continue targeting offenders causing harm to the community.
"Our officers were relentless in their investigations and pursuit of these priority offenders, and we are glad to have them off our streets," Detective Inspector Chetham said.
"We understand that even if you are not a victim of crime personally, you may still be affected by property crime occurring in our region.
"I would like to thank the community for their continued support and assure them that we will do everything in our power to ensure they feel safe."
