More than 1,200 farmers have boosted their knowledge and capability in adopting Agtech into their businesses after attending hands-on training workshops run by the the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (NSW DPIRD) Farms of the Future program.
The Farms of the Future Agtech Fundamentals training course equips farmers with the knowledge and tools to identify Agtech and connectivity solutions that fit their specific needs.
The workshop provides producers with an opportunity to develop a personalised farm Monitoring Plan.
Farmers capture their specific on-farm challenges, the benefits of addressing them, and then possible solutions based on risk and business impact and connectivity options.
Demand for the workshops continues to grow, with several upcoming workshops scheduled throughout regional New South Wales.
Farms of the Future Agtech Specialist, Clare Belfield, said the five-member team has been busy delivering the free training to farmers all around the state.
"It's great to work with so many farmers who want to learn how they can improve the productivty of their businesses using the latest technology and solutions available.
"The training has been a valuable opportunity for producers to identify their farm's pain points, connectivity gaps, and compare Agtech options that match their own specific challenges and business needs.
"Through our workshops, the Agtech Specialist team has supported farmers to build a practical Monitoring Plan which is a critical step in their Agtech adoption journey, as well as showcase practical applications and case studies of Agtech and connectivity."
