A newly launched campaign by the Victorian Farmers Federation and the Victorian State Government is breaking down barriers and creating greater transparency between agricultural and non-agricultural communities when it comes to farm practice.
All thanks to one simple premise…
Ask a question, and a Victorian farmer will provide the answer.
Open Gate Conversations is an interactive online hub that allows people to ask any and every question to do with farm practice and management. Letting farmers tackle questions with examples of how farming is changing, straight from the source.
The campaign is all about creating an open dialogue and identifying a commonality between both communities. For many, that is key issues around sustainability, climate change and managing landscapes.
Already those key issues are among the top questions answered by Vic farmers, through Open Gate Conversations, as well as animal welfare, use of chemicals, and technology.
Here's a sneak peak of what to expect:
Today we launched the Open Gate Conversations campaign, which delves into how Victoria's food and fibre is produced and gives consumers the chance to ask questions that will be answered by real farmers at https://t.co/YF4oSqbrPv👇 #vicfarmers #OpenGateConversations pic.twitter.com/Xw4P5SU3C1
