Farmers encouraged to claim drought transport subsidies

The NSW Rural Assistance Authority (RAA) is urging farmers to submit their 2019/20 invoices for the NSW Government's Drought Transport Subsidy by the end of this month.

Chief Executive of the RAA, Sean O'Connell said all invoices for the 2019/20 financial year need to be submitted to the RAA by 30 September 2020 in order for payments to be made to eligible primary producers.

"The RAA is committed to helping farmers recover from the worst drought in living memory and we don't want to see any farmer entitled to a subsidy miss out," Mr O'Connell said.

"Claiming the transport subsidy is simple and can be done online at the RAA website and I am urging everyone to sit down and do it today.
