Fatal Crash Appeal: Police Update 3 in Burpengary

Detectives from the Moreton District Criminal Investigation Branch and Homicide Investigation Unit have concluded their investigation into a fatal traffic incident on the Bruce Highway at Burpengary last month.

On 17 February, police and emergency services were called to the northbound lanes near the Deception Bay exit after a white Isuzu truck collided head on with a white Honda Accord.

The driver of the Honda, a 26-year-old Caboolture man, was declared deceased at the scene.

A 46-year-old Redcliffe man also sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police will allege the Isuzu had been stolen from a Hemmant business and it was being followed by a Ford Ranger in the moments leading up to the crash.

A 42-year-old Narangba man has been charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.

He is due to face Caboolture Magistrates Court on 13 April.

A 46-year-old Redcliffe man has been also charged with one count of manslaughter, as well as four counts of enter premises and commit, three counts of stealing, two counts of receiving tainted property and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to face Caboolture Magistrates Court on 12 May.
