Fatal crash in Singleton

Police are investigating after a fatal car crash at Singleton, in the Hunter Valley, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Mitchell Line Road, Singleton, just before 7.40am tomorrow, following reports of a crash.

Officers have been told that two sedans collided about 1km east of the intersection of Mitchell Line Road and Range Road.

The driver of one of the cars, a 63-year-old man, died at the scene.

Two other people are still being treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene.

Officers attached to Hunter Valley Local Area Command – with assistance from Crash Investigation Unit – established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Mitchell Line Road is closed in both directions with traffic diversion in place.
