Fatal hit-run in Sunshine

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a hit-run collision which claimed the life of a woman in Sunshine yesterday afternoon.

It is understood a woman was getting out of a car when the vehicle took off on High Street about 3.10pm on Monday, 7 November.

The woman was dragged for a short distance before colliding with a parked vehicle.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries where she later died.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene.

A 22-year-old Brookfield woman was later arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are continuing to establish the exact circumstances around the collision and investigations are ongoing.
