Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal house fire in Frankston this afternoon.
Officers responded to reports of the blaze at a residential property on Stanley Street just before 5pm.
A yet-to-be-identified woman was located deceased inside the premises.
No one else was inside the property at the time.
At this stage, the circumstances of the fire are yet to be determined.
A crime scene is in place and an arson chemist will attend the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
