Fatal Marine Incident, Mooloolaba

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man in a fatal marine incident at Mooloolaba this morning, 27 August.

Around 5.20am, police were called to reports a commercial boat had overturned with five men on board in the river mouth between Mooloolaba and Point Cartwright.

The boat washed up on Mooloolaba Beach and four people made their way to shore. One man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and three other men were uninjured.

A 52-year-old Mountain Creek man was located deceased in the water.

Investigations are ongoing.
