Police are investigating after a fatal collision involving multiple motorcycles in Dandenong South this evening.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving at least three motorcycles on the South Gippsland Freeway about 7.15pm.
One rider, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
Two other riders have been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It is understood the motorcycles were travelling northbound as part of a group when the collision occurred near the South Gippsland Highway.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
The road will be closed northbound while the investigators assess the scene.
