Fatal motorcycle crash, on property north of Broken Hill, NSW

Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash on a sheep station about 140km north of Broken Hill on Saturday, NSW Police say.

About 5.30pm (3 September 2016), emergency services were called to Tirlta Station, following reports of a motorcycle crash.

Initial investigations suggest two men were riding motorcycles on the property, when one of the men hit a fence.

The rider, a 67-year-old Victorian man, suffered critical injuries.

He was treated by the other motorcycle rider before being taken to the homestead.

Royal Flying Doctor Service were contacted and arrived about 8.30pm, however, the man died later that night.

Officers from Broken Hill Local Area Command established a crime scene and investigations into the crash are continuing.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
