Fatal pedestrian crash - Albion Park

Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash south of Sydney last night.

About 7.30pm (Wednesday 5 October 2022), emergency services were called to Tongarra Road, Albion Park, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

The 73-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the crash.

The driver of the vehicle – a 35-year-old man – was uninjured and taken to Shellharbour Hospital for mandatory testing.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
