One person has died in a fatal plane crash in the state's west today.
About 2pm (Wednesday 30 July 2025), emergency services were called to D-Block Road, Balranald, about 130km west of Hay, following reports of a light plane crash.
Upon arrival, emergency services located a man in a critical condition.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however he could not be revived.
While the man is yet to be formally identified, he is believed to be aged in his 50s.
Officers from Barrier Police District are currently on scene and have secured a crime scene.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
An investigation into the cause of the crash will be undertaken by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB).
